
FIRST LADY OF THE REPUBLIC OF ECUADOR
Mrs. Lavinia Valbonesi de Noboa was twenty-
five years old when she became the First
Lady of the Republic of Ecuador, after her
spouse, Daniel Noboa Azín, was sworn into
office as President in November 2023.
They are the youngest Presidential Family in
the history of the Ecuadorian Republic and
modern Latin America.
Lavinia is a specialist in fitness, nutrition and
body building, and has certification in personal
training. Currently, she is pursuing a bachelor’s
degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.
In 2016, she was an intern on the successful re-election campaign of Australian
Prime Minister Tony Abbott, in Sydney, Australia, as she was interested in first-
hand experience in political science and campaigns. Lavinia speaks English, in
addition to Spanish (native) and Italian, and has a fair command of French and
some basic Mandarin.
Lavinia has an entrepreneurial spirit and, currently, she is a partner in ‘Green
Deli’, a healthy food restaurant in Ecuador.
Lavinia and Daniel have two children together: Álvaro and Furio; and Luisa,
the daughter of her husband’s first engagement, is a beloved member of their
family circle.
As First Lady, Lavinia has made a commitment to social projects that seek to
prevent violence against women and children and t h a t promote maternal and
child health. Through philanthropy, Lavinia engages in programs to protect the
most vulnerable and to ensure their well-being, so that all Ecuadorians can
achieve a healthy future.
